## Installation Timelines
What to expect from your flooring project in San Antonio, TX
Efficient, tidy installations across San Antonio
One of the most common questions we hear at Presidio Flooring is "how long will this take?" The honest answer depends on the flooring material, the square footage, the condition of your subfloor, and whether old flooring needs to be removed first. A single room typically moves faster than a whole-house project, but every job includes prep work that's easy to underestimate if you've never gone through a flooring renovation before.
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and laminate are among the fastest installations, often completed in one to three days for an average-sized home because the click-lock systems install quickly over prepped subfloors. Carpet installation is similarly quick, usually one to two days including removal of old carpet and padding. Tile takes longer — generally three to seven days — because it requires substrate prep, thin-set curing time, and grout curing before the floor can bear heavy traffic. Solid hardwood installation, especially if it includes sanding and finishing on site, can take anywhere from three to seven days depending on square footage and finish type.
Factors that extend timelines include subfloor repairs, moisture issues, furniture that needs to be moved, multi-room or whole-house scope, and custom patterns or transitions between rooms. When we provide your estimate, we walk through your specific space and give you a realistic day-by-day schedule so you know exactly when to plan around installers being in your home. We also sequence multi-day jobs to keep at least one part of your home usable whenever possible.
